rei ki

rei "God's wisdom" or "higher power" and ki "life force energy" are combined to mean a spiritually guided life force energy. this japanese technique isn't only used for healing, but stress reduction and relaxation. basically, having someone else get rid of the toxins in our body. this spiritual "cleaning" brings a peaceful well being to your body, emotions and feelings by transferring energy through the palms of the practitioner. with the patient lying down comfortably the practitioner moves through about 12 - 20 positions, spending around 3 - 5 minutes at each position, a touching or a non-touching technique can be used. it's doesn't hurt to do it once a week, if you have that luxury of course.

a translation of reiki's 5 principles created by Mikao Usui, the founder:

"The secret method of inviting good fortune.
The marvelous medicine for all sickness
Just for today:
Do not be angry
Do not worry
Be grateful
Work with integrity
Be kind to others.
Every morning and every night, sit in the Gassho position [hands held palm-to-palm] and speak these words out loud in your heart.
For the evolution of body and soul, Usui Reiki Ryoho"

  1. Wouldn't life just be so much better if people really took 5 minutes at the start of each day and said that to themselves.. I'm such a believer in Reiki, i believe it enhances our lives internally and the lives of people around us.. Regardless what accomplishments you've amassed in your life, at the end of it all if you've managed to live a "reiki life" - not necessarily doing reiki or receiving it, simply living by good, wholesome basic principles such as those 5 mentioned - then I believe your much closer to your God's intention or your true soul.. Props maymizzle xx

    1. That's a cool way to put it "a non existent muscle"... Bet it used to be a well trained muscle back in some cultures.. somewhere along our "development" or "evolution", it seems to have been cast aside...
